Danielle Kunkel

Danielle Kunkel (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist and designer with a BFA in General Fine Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and minors in Graphic Design and Sustainability & Social Practices. Most of her work shines light on environmental issues, such as climate change and biodiversity loss, and actions that can be done to mitigate them. She visualizes data through the combination of various media whilst using graphic design as a way to support what cannot be stated through fine art alone. Danielle's current immersive installation series, Bye Bye Birdies, does this by exploring how climate change threatens bird populations. Her ultimate goal as a creative is to help ensure a better world for all life on Earth.

Along with her fine art practice, Danielle designs visuals as a Creative & Marketing Specialist at Ginkgo Bioworks. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time in nature where she finds rejuvenation and inspiration.
